If you're prescribed a medicine which isn't available under the state scheme, you'll have to pay for it yourself.

Hospital Treatment & Ambulance Costs

In an emergency you can get treatment in the Emergency section of a hospital. You can also be referred to a hospital for inpatient or out-patient treatment if you consult a doctor and s/he refers you. There are no charges for in-patient or outpatient hospital treatment. There's no charge for ambulance transportation.

Where to Get Refunds

Patients are generally only charged their share of the costs, which are non-refundable.

If you don't have your Form E111 with you at the time you see a doctor and are charged, keep all your receipts and apply to the nearest Territorial Patient Fund for a refund. You'll need to produce your Form E111 and passport.
