Doctors, Dentists & PrescriptionsYou can only get free or reduced cost treatment from a doctor in a state health centre or government hospital. Treatment provided by private doctors or private medical institutions isn't covered, unless you're referred by the Medical Board for services not provided in a state facility. You'll have to pay a patient contribution (co-payment of CY£1.00 at the time of printing or £1.22) for each visit to a doctor or dentist. A patient contribution of CY £40 (or £48.85p) is also paid for each denture. These fees aren't refundable. Prescriptions are issued by a state doctor, which you must then present to a state pharmacy. You'll need your Form E111. There's no charge for prescriptions. Hospital Treatment & Ambulance CostsIn-patient treatment is only available if you're referred to a hospital by a state doctor, or if you're admitted through the Accident & Emergency Department of a state hospital.
