Founded in 1951, Saga started out selling cheap off-peak UK holidays to retired people. Today it's a market leader in its field with an impressive range of products and services targeting the 50+ age (mature, elderly and oap's) group, including -

Comprehensive cover

For travel insurance, you can choose from single trip or the annual policy for trips up to 90 days at a time.

Cover includes -

• Baggage - £2,500 (£300 limit for a single item)

• Personal accident - £30,000
• Hijack £50 for each 24-hour period (£1,000 max)
• Legal expenses - £50,000

SAGA, on pre existing medical conditions - such as people with AIDS or HIV, strokes, disabilities, heart or cardiac problems such as angina, kidney failure requiring dialysis - explain that they we will need to ask some questions about your health, but in most cases, they are be able to provide cover. Anything you tell them is strictly confidential.

Business trip cover is also available.

Helpline

You get travel advice and info before and during your trip, and there's a 24-hour English-speaking helpline for assistance in an emergency.

Policies cover a range of leisure activities as standard and for an extra premium you can cover scuba diving, golf or winter sports.

You have to be over 50 to be eligible to buy, and there's no upper age limit, so if you are aged over 60, 65, 70, 75 or even 80 plus, give then a call.

You can also get cover for fellow travellers in your group, including children under 16.
