Doctors, Dentists & PrescriptionsConsult any doctor and produce your E111. You must pay for treatment and prescribed medicines. Get a receipt for everything. You'll be able to get a refund, although not necessarily for the full amount, by applying to the local Sickness Fund Office. Hospital TreatmentIf a doctor thinks you need hospital treatment, you'll be issued with a certificate which you should give to the hospital authorities, together with your E111 - if you've not already given it to the Sickness Fund Office. Treatment is normally free but you must pay a daily charge, which isn't refunded.
